CLEVELAND, Ohio — Cleveland’s refugee community is in the national spotlight tonight on the TV show, “America with Jorge Ramos.”
Last year, nearly 70,000 refugees – people fleeing their home countries in fear of persecution – came to the United States. Between 500 and 700 refugees arrive in Cleveland every year.
Since 2008, Northeast Ohio has received more than 2,500 refugees, with most coming from areas of conflict in Africa, Southeast Asia and the Middle East. Read more…
